Pattern Transitions in Unstable Viscous Convective Medium

Convection in a thin layer of liquid (gas) with temperature dependent viscosity between poorly heat conducting boundaries is studied within framework of the Proctor-Sivashinsky model. This model is examined in order to study both the flow pattern formation and the second-order structural phase transitions as between patterns with translational invariance as well as between structures with broken translational invariance but keeping a long-range order. The spatial spectrum of arising patterns and estimation of their visual defectiveness are analyzed. The relation between the density of pattern defects and spectral characteristics of the pattern is found. We also discuss the noise effects on the formation of pattern defects. The influence of temperature dependence of viscosity on the process of pattern formation and structure transformations is also discussed. It is shown that the temperature dependence of viscosity inhibits structural transition from regular rolls to square cells

On Accounting for Own Fields of Emitters when Describing Generation Modes

The paper discusses three different modes of electromagnetic field generation by an ensemble of oscillators placed at the radiation wavelength in the one-dimensional case. The excitation of the resonator field is considered, which, as a rule, is determined by the geometry of the system, with and without taking into account the eigenfields of the emitters. The superradiance regime of the same ensemble of oscillators is also analyzed. In fact, superradiance is formed due to the emitters' own fields even in the absence of a resonator. It is noted that the maximum achievable amplitudes of induced fields both in the superradiance regime and in the regime of excitation of the resonator field are comparable. This makes us think about the role of the self-fields of emitters in electronic devices. It is shown that in describing the resonator excitation mode, in addition to the resonator field, it is also necessary to take into account the sum of the natural fields of the emitters in the active zone. Synchronization of emitters leads not only to an increase in the resonator field, but also, as in the superradiance regime, it significantly increases the amplitude of the sum of the oscillator fields. It is shown that in the practically interesting case of open systems (dissipative generation modes), taking into account the eigenfields of the emitters significantly reduces the characteristic time for the development of the generation process and increases the maximum achievable oscillation amplitude. This account also changes the conditions for achieving the maximum energy flow from the system. This can change the operating point of the generation process, which is determined by the requirement for the maximum rate of energy output from the system

Development of an Algorithm for Multicriteria Optimization of Deep Learning Neural Networks

    Get PDF
Nowadays, machine learning methods are actively used to process big data. A promising direction is neural networks, in which structure optimization occurs on the principles of self-configuration. Genetic algorithms are applied to solve this nontrivial problem. Most multicriteria evolutionary algorithms use a procedure known as non-dominant sorting to rank decisions. However, the efficiency of procedures for adding points and updating rank values in non-dominated sorting (incremental non-dominated sorting) remains low. In this regard, this research improves the performance of these algorithms, including the condition of an asynchronous calculation of the fitness of individuals. The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that although many scholars and specialists have studied the self-tuning of neural networks, they have not yet proposed a comprehensive solution to this problem. In particular, algorithms for efficient non-dominated sorting under conditions of incremental and asynchronous updates when using evolutionary methods of multicriteria optimization have not been fully developed to date. To achieve this goal, a hybrid co-evolutionary algorithm was developed that significantly outperforms all algorithms included in it, including error-back propagation and genetic algorithms that operate separately. The novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that the developed algorithms have minimal asymptotic complexity. The practical value of the developed algorithms is associated with the fact that they make it possible to solve applied problems of increased complexity in a practically acceptable time. Doi: 10.28991/HIJ-2023-04-01-011 Full Text: PD

STATE FUNCTION IN UNSTABLE CONVECTIVE MEDIUM

Convection in a thin layer of liquid (gas) with temperature independent viscosity between poorly heat conducting boundaries is studied within framework of the Proctor-Sivashinsky model. We have shown by numerical simulation of the Proctor-Sivashinsky model that the state with certain topology can be described by the state function, which is the sum of squared mode of temperature spatial spectrum on the surface. The transitions between these states are characterized by splashes in time-derivative of this function and different meta-stable structures, corresponding to different values of the state function have different visually distinguishable topologies

Old laceration of deltoid muscle (case report)

Traumatic isolated injury of deltoid muscle is a rare nosological orthopedic injury that occurs in 1,3 % of all shoulder joint injuries. In normal state function of shoulder joint is provided by deltoid muscle up to 50 % of capacity in scapular area. Degree of abolition of function of shoulder joint depends on the degree of deltoid muscle injury. Differential diagnosis is necessary to conduct with other traumatic injuries accompanied with such upper limb dysfunctions as chronic posterior humerus head dislocation, injury of rotatory cuff tendon, chronic complete or partial disorder of deltoid muscle integrity. The article contains clinical case of diagnostics and surgical treatment of the patient with isolated old deltoid muscle injury of more than 2 years accompanied with combined contracture of shoulder joint. Check-up examination in 6 months after the operation showed full restoration of a function of upper limb and no complaints. Results of control MRT examination of shoulder joint in 11 months after the operation showed full adhesion of tendomuscular autograft with acromial process of scapula
